Water for All – Atlas Copco MCT GmbH
Clean water is a human right. The Atlas Copco initiative Water for All supports projects that supply clean drinking water to people in need, by building wells, for example, or securing natural water resources.
Water for All was founded in 1984 by employees from the Swedish Atlas Copco Group. The organization has around 5,000 members all over the world. With the help of voluntary donations, which are topped up by Atlas Copco, this charitable organization has supplied clean drinking water to over 1.5 million people to date. Since 2008, 153 members and 31 sponsors have also been supporting the "Water for All Deutschland e. V." association in Germany. In 2014 and 2015, the members decided to support a WA-S-H project in Malawi together with our partner Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e.V.
W-A-S-H stands for water, sanitation and hygiene and supports 20 primary schools with approximately 21,100 pupils in the Dezda district. With the help of Water for All, new wells are being built and repaired, latrines are being built and health clubs are being founded at schools and in communities to help establish and promote good hygiene practices.
